RED Komodo Versus Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro
These are both great cameras, and the Blackmagic is clearly the best value. However, if your budget allows it, there are some image quality gains with the RED.

We are surprised by the results as we’ve seen other comparisons where the RED was obviously better. Of course the testing and comparison is limited in this video, but the results are still interesting.
Thoughts on the RED Komodo
The RED Komodo is a very interesting option as its price has made it accessible and it has one of the best images in its category. There are downsides of course too, especially for those who lean towards run-and-gun shooting. Regardless, we’re always happy to have more competent options is the sub-$10K camera space.

Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2
The original URSA Broadcast camera was released in 2018, and now Blackmagic innovates again with this beauty. Most people focus on Blackmagic’s other cameras, where are better suited to narrative film-making. But there are very few affordable broadcast camera’s so we’re very grateful Blackmagic continues to serve this market segment and make the technology more accessible.
