More information about the Panasonic GH6 should be coming out soon. We’re looking forward to this camera as we find the GH5’s to simply be practical. We reach to other cameras when we want the best image quality or other specific features. But for a quick, light, small, and easy to use setup, it’s hard to beat Panasonic’s offerings (now if only they could get decent autofocus).
Here is what we have heard:
- No 8K (there were previous rumors about this)
- New sensor
- Updated image processing
- New/improved autofocus
- 5.7K 60p video, 10-bit sampling
- DCI 4K 10-bit 4:2:2, unlimited video recording
- UHD 4K 120p with 10-bit HFR
- $2999 (this is not confirmed and we’re hoping it will be less than this)
And just a reminder about the offical words from Panasonic:
The GH6, which is currently under development, aims to achieve both the mobility unique to Micro Four Thirds systems and a variety of video expressiveness. Both the sensor and engine have been newly developed to support 4: 2: 2 10bit Cinema 4K60p video recording, and we plan to achieve unlimited video recording time within the recommended operating temperature. I’m really sorry that I can’t tell you in detail, but please look forward to what kind of camera the GH6, which is still under development by engineers, will be finished.
